Comedy Sopranos add a 2nd Montreal show

      Mar. 4, 2011

We checked in with comedian Franco Taddeo this week. He is, not surprisingly, in a very good mood.

“It’s heartwarming that a month before the show we sold out,” Taddeo comments on the success of his Comedy Sopranos show. The March 12 show (which will be taped for a television special) sold out so quickly, Taddeo and his fellow comedians decided to add a second show on March 11.

“I do comedy that is reflective, without being embarrassing. It’s about showing who we are without ghettoizing us,” he explains. And audiences and promoters alike are loving it.

The Comedy Sopranos have been invited to perform in other cities, both in Canada and the U.S. To date, eight shows are confirmed for Ottawa, Toronto and New York in June. And there is talk of adding more U.S. dates.

And if that wasn’t enough to put a smile on Taddeo’s face, he will be one of seven comedians featured on the CBC Television comedy special, Whose Canada Is It Anyways?, which will air on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 9:00PM. The special is hosted by Kids in the Hall legend Scott Thompson, and features comics Don Kelly, Derek Seguin, Franco Taddeo, Sam Easton, Rich Hall, and Gilson Lubin.

The additional Comedy Sopranos show – featuring Franco Taddeo, Guido Cocomello, and Massimo – is scheduled for Friday, March 11, 2011 at 8:30PM at the Saputo Theatre of the Leonardo Da Vinci Centre in St-Leonard. Tickets are $25.00 and can be purchased by calling (514) 244-8727.
