      Starting today, the Cinémathèque québécoise – which seems to be in a very Italian mood these days – is running a second Italian themed series of films. (See the April 15 blog to read about the Rome, ville de cinema series).

      150 ans de l’Unité italienne runs today until May 6, 2011 and features four great films.

      Friday, April 22, 8:30PM. La terra trema (La terre tremble). 1948. Directed by Luchino Visconti Starring Antonio Arcidiacono, Giuseppe Arcidiacono, and Venera Bonaccorso.

      Sunday, April 24, 7:00PM. Rocco e i suoi fratelli (Rocco and His Brothers). 1960. Directed by Luchino Visconti. Starring Alain Delon, Renato Salvatori, and Annie Girardot.

      Friday, April 29, 6:30PM & Friday, May 6, 8:30PM. Il gattopardo (Le Guépard). 1963. Directed by Luchino Visconti. Starring Burt Lancaster, Claudia Cardinale, and Alain Delon.

      Saturday, April 30, 9:00PM. Allonsanfan. 1974. Directed by Paolo et Vittorio Taviani. Starring Marcello Mastroianni, Laura Betti, and Lea Massari.

      The Cinémathèque québécoise is located at 335 De Maisonneuve Est, east west of St-Denis. Tickets are just $7.00, and $6.00 for students.
