Franco Taddeo & Company at Places des Arts

      Sep. 1, 2011

Montreal comedy favorite Franco Taddeo will be taking the stage in Montreal on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Théâtre Maisonneuve at the Place des Arts.

Presented by Sheldon Kagan International, LOL MTL Comedy Night will feature four comics and their take on Montreal, from politics to poutine to pot holes. Taddeo will be joined on stage by comics Scott Faulconbridge, Freddie James, and Derek Seguin.

Here are the official bios for each comic, courtesy of Sheldon Kagan International…

SCOTT FAULCONBRIDGE. Known for his hilarious storytelling and improvisational wit, Scott Faulconbridge has toured all of North America and the UK and has appeared at Just for Laughs five times. Scott’s stand-up appearances and specials have aired on NBC, CTV, and CBC.

FREDDIE JAMES. Originally from the mean streets of Chicago, Freddie is triple entertainment threat; singer, dancer and comic. A two time Just for Laughs veteran, Freddie’s take on relationships, race and sex have earned him the nickname “the Bad Boy of comedy”.

DEREK SEGUIN. ‘Canada’s funniest bilingual comic,’ Toronto Star. Derek Seguin brings a Quebecois flare to any stage he performs on. He has performed at Just for Laughs Montreal and Toronto, Juste pour Rire Halifax, Winnipeg and the Hubcup Comedy Festival. Derek has been named to the top ten funniest stand-up comedians in Montreal Mirror’s “Best of” readers’ poll since 2006.

FRANCO TADDEO. The Comedy Soprano “critically acclaimed” by the Montreal Gazette. Franco is one of the city’s foremost headliners, fresh off a national tour and a CBC-TV comedy special entitled “Whose Canada is it?”. He was named “One of Canada’s finest” by the Ottawa Sun. Franco connects with all audiences through humour that is, like our lives, multifaceted, complex, and sometimes just surreal.

Tickets for LOL MTL Comedy Night – ranging from $36.90 to $46.90 – are still available. For more information please call the Place des Arts box office at (514) 842-2112 or visit
