Vincenzo Thoma – a Romantico at heart

      Mar. 8, 2012

On Tuesday, March 13 Montreal singer/songwriter Vincenzo Thoma is set to release his latest album, Romantico.

Composer, lyricist, musician, arranger, singer and teacher, Italian-born Thoma is no stranger to the stage or the recording studio. He has lent his talents to numerous projects and endeavors, including performing at the Sanremo Music Festival, being the Italian singing voice of Disney’s Aladin, and performing on the RAI network’s popular musical program Fantastico. He has written songs for countless artists, including Lara Fabian, Roch Voisine, Bruno Pelletier and Tocadéo.

His latest project is quite simply, Romantico… The album features ten of the greatest love songs of the past thirty years, adapted in Italian for the first time ever. Thoma is both the translator and the singer on each track – which includes songs by Sting, Bryan Adams, Elton John, George Michael, and Phil Collins. The album also features the Italian version of Tous les visages de l’amour in which Thoma shares singing duties with Sonia Benezra.

Distributed by DEP/Universal, Romantico will be released on March 13 on the Michelangelo Productions label, a label Thoma runs with his wife and partner, Simona Peron. The album is available for pre-order on
