      Montreal’s Italian Week 2014 – Day Eight

      Aug. 15, 2014

Montreal's Italian WeekWe’re now in the final stretch! The last remaining days of Montreal’s Italian Week will turn Little Italy into a street festival. Tents and stages will line Boulevard St-Laurent, between St-Zotique and Jean Talon streets, starting today at 3:00PM until late Sunday evening.

Despite the chance of rain, there will still be much to see and do all weekend long.

Over 60 community groups, organizations, artists and vendors will be on hand to showcase their talents and their fares… artwork, books, food, publications, activities for the kids, and more. Many of our favorite Little Italy eateries and cafés will have expanded terraces for the occasion.

Starting at 4:00PM, the outdoor stage at the corner of Boulevard St-Laurent and Shamrock Street will offer attendees an afternoon of live performances by DJ Fabio Russo, Vanessa Piunno, Christopher Dallo and Wilst.

Tonight’s big show on the Loto-Québec Stage,
at the corner of Boulevard St-Laurent and St Zotique, will see singer/songwriter Ima showcase hits from her long repertoire, including a selection from her latest album, Love Moi. Opening for Ima will be Vu. The show gets underway at 8:00PM.

Italocanadese will also be in Little Italy this weekend.

For a second year in a row, Italocanadese and the Order of the Sons of Italy in Canada, in collaboration with Montreal’s Italian Week, will host a Scopa tournament. The elimination rounds will take place on Saturday afternoon, followed by the semi-finals and finals on Sunday afternoon. Even if you are not playing in the tournament, you can still sit down and enjoy a friendly hand of scopa with friends or other festival goers. Look out for the Scopa Tent on Boulevard St-Laurent, just north of St-Zotique.
